Get involved. We make it easy.
Your organization can lend its support by making a corporate gift, hosting a workplace campaign, participating in our Sponsored Employee Program, sponsoring an event or other United Way initiative, or making a gift-in-kind.
Corporate Gifts
Today’s workforce feels it’s important to work for an organization that gives back. Making a corporate donation to United Way shows that you care about more than just the bottom line, you also care about your employees and your community. Here's a great idea - encourage employees to get involved by offering to match their United Way contributions with an equal corporate gift.
Workplace Campaigns
Grow leadership within your organization and foster team spirit by holding an annual United Way workplace campaign, typically in the fall. Employees are canvassed by selected coworkers, with the option of making a contribution through payroll deduction. Combining fundraising efforts with other initiatives such as a staff BBQ makes giving fun while bringing awareness to social issues in our community.
We will:
- provide specialized training for the employees coordinating your campaign
- offer external support and encouragement through our sponsored employees
- supply a toolkit of posters, publications and other resources to boost campaign efforts
- offer educational opportunities through guest speakers and "Seeing is Believing" agency tours
Companies that run United Way workplace campaigns - particularly those that match employee contributions - report improved morale and happier, more productive staff. As an added bonus, satisfied employees make great ambassadors and can boost recruitment efforts.
Sponsored Employee Program (SEP)
United Way’s Sponsored Employee Program (SEP) offers a unique opportunity to practice corporate social responsibility in a way that benefits your organization, your seconded employee and our community at large. Potential leaders from a variety of workplaces join forces with United Way staff for a 15-week period, usually during our fall campaign. They gain valuable skills as they play a crucial role in supporting and inspiring hundreds of workplace campaigns in our community. As a sponsoring organization, you’ll receive public recognition in United Way publications, at our special events and on our web site. You’ll also receive recognition every time your sponsored employee goes into the community on our behalf.
Don’t have an employee to loan? Donating sponsorship funding gives United Way the flexibility to hire an individual with specific skills to support our fundraising efforts.
